Happy New Year! It's a new year and time to launch another fun year of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! We are excited that you can join us for another year of our Great Stash Bash Challenge!! It's hard to believe that 2026 is here isn't it???!!! I did not do well on using my kits in 2025, but that is the great thing about a New Year, it's a chance to start anew, so cheers to a new year and a fresh start!! In 2026 we are trying something new, we will be implementing a smaller "mini" kit recipe so as to encourage us to really dig in and bash that stash! So without further adieu let's kick off the January 2026 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2026!!
Here is how our 2026 challenge works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kit as possible on different projects. Then, somewhere along the way we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2026. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog My Happy Life (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our Stash Bash kit recipe for this month:
Here is my kit for this month:
I am working on a journal to use all year long in 2026. I have purchased the WIDSIOPOSA (which stands for Write It down, Stick it on, pray over & say Amen) book by Kelly Bangs from Illustrated Faith and I plan to use this kit to create my journal dividers and decorate my journal for January! If I have stuff left over I will make a layout and a card or two as well!
Here is a close up of my papers:
These papers are from the following collections: Vicki Boutin's Color Study (multi dot & purple dash); Vicki Boutin's Bold & Bright (blue pattern) & Vicki Boutin's Where to Next (black floral & orange pattern). I picked pink, black, white and lime green cardstock to use for some background papers.
The "B" side of my papers:
My embellishments & alphas:
My alphas are a 12 x 12 Simple Stories Carpe Diem sheet and 2 sets of American Craft Thickers. For my embellishments I have included some Vicki Boutin sticker sheets and ephemera which are from her varioius collections.
My stash bash item- Cut apart cards:
I have so many cut apart cards! I love them and can never stop myself from purchasing them!! I included more than I can probably use up this month, but I am hoping to make a big dent in these cut apart papers which are from the following collections: Vicki Boutin Color Study, Vicki Boutin Let's Wander, Vicki Boutin Where to Next, Paige Evans Blooming Wild; Heidi Swapp Set Sail and April and Ivy Radiant Reflections.
Here are the rules for 2026:
Each month we will create a kit using the recipe (found above) of 3-5 patterned papers of any size (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to you!), 2-3 embellishments, 2-3 pieces of cardstock, alphas and our stash bash item!
This month's stash bash item is: Cut apart/journal cards
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2026
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash! We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!! You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
